Flea Bites TreatmentDepending on what form of treatment you are using, it could take a very long time to get rid of an infestation of fleas.  During that time, your pet will be suffering from flea bites, for which there is specific treatment.  There are also flea bites treatment for humans as there is a decent chance that if your pet has fleas then you will get bitten a few times yourself.

If you’re squirming and feeling itchy just reading this then that’s good, you can use it as practice for not scratching!  Although very satisfying, we all know that scratching will just make things worse, possibly leading to inflammation and, anyway, scratching just makes it feel more itchy!  So don’t scratch.  But there is no need to just endure either, for you or your pet.

If it is you who is affected, then first of all make sure the area is clean.  Do not use hot or even warm water to do this, only use cold water. You can then apply antiseptic lotion.  And to heal the skin, you can use hydrocortisone cream.  Alternatively, you might have your own home remedies passed down for generations, in which case there is no reason not to give them a go!

As regards flea bites treatment for your pet, the area should also be cleaned only with cold water only and antiseptic lotion, assuming the flea bites treatment does not interfere with any other form of treatment you are using.  Beyond that, Aloe Vera juice can help to soothe the affected area.  If that doesn’t work, anti-histamines and steroid creams could be prescribed by your vet.  For a dog, a slight change in diet can be of assisstance; adding flaxseed oil or other fatty acids can be an aid with the problem.

So with the right course of treatment, your flea problem will soon be gone, and in the meantime you will have to manage the irritation with flea bites treatment as best you can.  The most important thing to remember, however, is that no matter how much you might want to, don’t scratch!
