Alternatively, if you have a relatively small pet, you could try the Adams flea collar.  Flea collars periodically let off some toxins, but it won’t spread very far so if your pet is too big then flea collars won’t work very well.  On average, the flea collar will have to be changed every five months approximately but if there is a bad flea infestation then it might have to be changed more often.

If you do not get rid of the developing fleas in your pet’s environment, however, then they will always come back – and it is not a good thing to be constantly having to apply chemical products to your pet’s fur.  To totally get rid of your flea problem, therefore, you will have to also treat your carpet for fleas.  The Adams flea treatment for this comes in the form of a carpet spray.  You should keep your pets and children away from it while it is still wet, however once it is dry and you have vacuumed it, then it will be safe again, and hopefully flea free.  It may have to be applied again, however, to get rid of all of the developing fleas.
